Parent and Baby in the Garden

Join us at the KELT LOCAL community garden in Bath for Parent and Baby in the Garden series this summer!

When: Thursday august 10 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Where: LOCAL Garden, on the corner of High and Lemont Streets in south Bath

Thursdays in August, caregivers and little ones are invited to join us at the community garden from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. We will have a group welcome in the grass together, and then babies and toddlers will be invited to get their hands in the dirt to water, cultivate, and taste the flowers and foods of a Maine summer garden. The morning will be designed for babies and toddlers ages 0 to 5 years old - a garden is a sensory experience for people of all ages, from looking up at the clouds in the grass to planting seeds for the very first time. Projects could include planting seeds, watering plants, spreading mulch, harvesting food, tasting what’s ready this week… it all depends on what the garden needs!

The session will be run by our garden coordinator Laurie and our community educator Emily, who will have her littlest baby in tow. Please bring sun protection, clothes that can get messy, a picnic blanket for any babies not yet crawling, and all are welcome to bring snacks for afterward to enjoy at our picnic tables.

This series is free to all and we hope to see you there! Please pre-register on the KELT website so we can have a sense of who will be joining us.
