Cruise the Kennebec with KELT & Doug Hitchcox!


When: Friday, June 12 at 4:30pm - 7:00pm

Where: Maine Maritime Museum & the kennebec

Tickets: $65 entry/person

Join KELT for a private 2-hour cruise on the Kennebec River, with ecological narration by Audubon Naturalist Doug Hitchcox!

All ages welcome! Boarding will begin at 4:30pm, and the boat will leave the dock at 5pm. We will return to the museum at 7pm. Alcoholic and NA beverages will be available for purchase on board, and KELT will provide light bites!

Doug Hitchcox, a Maine native, grew up in Hollis and graduated from the University of Maine in 2011. Throughout college Doug worked at Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center, and he was hired as Maine Audubon’s Staff Naturalist in the summer of 2013. He was the Outreach Coordinator for the Maine Bird Atlas (2018-2022). In his free time, Doug volunteers as one of Maine’s eBird reviewers, and he’s the moderator of Maine’s birding listserv and rare bird GroupMe. He also serves as a York County Audubon board member and is a voting member of the Maine Bird Records Committee. He also has a growing series of “niche birding videos” on his YouTube channel.
