The evening will begin with a membership social and happy hour with light appetizers and treats, featuring live jazz from local musician, Sam Saltonstall.
Staff and Board of Directors will then present our annual business meeting and strategic plan stories & highlights.
Kyler Phillips, KELT's Tidal Restoration Coordinator, will share highlights from the team's GIS analysis, showcasing priority sites and the metrics that make them top candidates for supporting ecosystems and communities:
Tidal Crossing Restoration Opportunities: The Greatest Hits—KELT's restoration team is currently prioritizing all tidal crossings in our service area to determine which sites are the most well-suited for restoration projects.
Stewardship staff, along with Steve Kasacek of Outdoor Sports Institute, will unveil our Lilly Pond Community Forest Trail Assessment:
Introduction to the Trail Planning Process, Steve Kasacek of Outdoor Sports Institute, who is the facilitator of the trail plan, will highlight the critical need of trail planning in multi-use trail systems and overview the process taken to generate the Lilly Pond Regional Trail Plan
Trail System Improvement Recommendations, Dillon Mulhern, Preserves Manager will dive into specific recommendations in Priority #1 of the trail plan - Increase Access, Rehabilitate, and Enhance Existing Trails; along with next action steps to move from plan to on the ground work.
Collaborative Landscape Level Stewardship, Andrew Morgan, Land + Stewardship Director will discuss how recent land protection work fits into the plan, along with the many partners needed to bring this plan to life and create sustainable long term stewardship for this area.

Steve Kasacek is the Director of Trail Development with the Outdoor Sport Institute (OSI). Based in the Katahdin Region, OSI is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to empowering active, resilient outdoor communities in Maine through trail development, workforce leadership development, and community activation.
Steve has been in the professional trail development scene for over 10 years. He has worked in over 20 states helping communities navigate complex trail development projects from vision to management. He has assisted with more than 1,200 miles of high-quality trails planning and design and has directly managed over 100 miles of trail construction, helping land managers, government agencies, organizations, and communities secure more than 12 million dollars in funding for natural surface trail projects.
