Birds of a Feather Spot Together
Join local birder Ilsa Tucker for a lively morning walk through the fields, forests, and wetlands of Crystal Spring Farm as we spot and listen for spring birds – from bobolinks and swallows to warblers, sparrows, and maybe a few migrating surprises. This walk is perfect for birders of all levels. Just bring your curiosity!
Ilsa is a senior at Brunswick High School and a passionate birder who’s been spotting feathered friends since childhood. She’s a member of the Maine Young Birders Club and loves sharing her knowledge with others.
We recommend bringing binoculars if you have them and study walking shoes. Some binoculars will be provided for those who don’t have any. Be mindful that it is tick season so please prepare accordingly.

There’s nothing quite like that first burst of birdsong on a spring morning – or spotting a flash of color in the trees as birds return from their winter travels. As the days grow longer and the air warms up, feathered friends of all shapes and sizes make their way back to Maine. And before the trees fully leaf out, it’s the perfect time to see them up close. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just bird-curious, Spring Birding Extravaganza is for everyone! This annual celebration brings together local conservation groups to offer a variety of free, welcoming bird walks and events across the region. Come learn, explore, and enjoy the wonder of spring migration with us. For more birding adventures, check out our amazing partners Kennebec Estuary Land Trust, Harpswell Heritage Land Trust, and Maine Coast Heritage Trust for additional walks and programs.
In order to give more people an opportunity to experience these wonderful walks, we are requesting individuals only register for one walk each. Thank you!
