Freight Shed to Food HallRepurposing the past into a sustainable futureMay 5, 2010
This semester, students in the Intermediate Independent Study in Visual Arts at Bowdoin College, taught by Wiebke Theodore, partnered with KELT to develop design proposals in response to the City of Bath’s comprehensive and climate action plans. The project presentations will represent three different approaches to the redevelopment of a waterfront site at the base of Lambard Street incorporating public waterfront access, renewable energy, demonstration gardens, bike commuter parking, local foods distribution and historic preservation strategies. With the participation of KELT the students have learned about the rich architectural history of Bath and the vital role that land trusts plays in land conservation. The event is open to the public. Refreshments provided. Link to article in Bowdoin Orient
